no telling WHAT'S going to happen each week down in Children's
Church! Whether Rob & Jennifer or Troy & (the other) Jennifer
are teaching, your kids are bound to have a great time,
and learn a few things too!

Bible stories, "time-travelling" guests, fun art projects
and more await your children during the main worship hour
at New Hope.

“Following
the Rules”
What
are some rules you can think of, that are important to
follow? (Look both ways before crossing the street,
don’t
talk to strangers, the 10 commandments, etc.) God gave
many rules to his people, the Israelites, and he expected
them to obey them. Some rules God knew were more important
than others, but God still expected ALL his rules to be followed.
David became king after Saul died, and once he had his home
set up in the city of Jerusalem, he commanded his men to
bring the ark holding the Ten Commandments to his city.
Read 2 Samuel 6:1-9
- Everyone was having fun at the parade when the ark came
to Jerusalem- until something bad happened. What was it?
- Why was God angry with Uzzah?
- Do you think God wants us to follow his old rules? Do they
still matter today?
During
the time Saul was king, people stopped following God -
remember that Saul killed the priests of God when he thought
they were on David’s side, so there was hardly
anyone left to teach God’s rules. But God still expected
the Israelites to follow the rules, and when they didn’t
follow them, bad things happened. When we break the rules,
bad things happen to us too - so we need to always listen
to the rules and obey God. Let’s pray.

What's
Happening Now:
For
the summer quarter, Rob and Jennifer C. are teaching the kids about God's Big Picture - how the whole Bible paints a picture of God's wonderful love!
The kids have also started visiting the independant living community next door, Radcliffe Place, once a month to share Jesus' love and spend time playing games with the residents!
Last summer we had a SonSeeker Safari VBS, with animations by Rob and Jennifer C.:
